Natural Stone Paving
We specialise in natural stone paving. When laying our natural stone we first lay it on a polythene membrane that acts as a damp proof course. We then lay the actual stone on a full bed of concrete, normally around 4 inches thick, the mix is made very strong and quite wet so it suctions down the stone. When the stone is pointed up, because of the very bad winters we are now getting with temperatures in the -0, we have started using a product called Romex mortars (rompox dran).
These mortars are a two component epoxy resin which is: frost resistant, de-icing, salt resistant and weed free. Check out their website for more info@ www.romex-ib.com/en.
The finish of the pointing when using this product is super neat and second to none.
As the name suggests, we specialise in block paving, we lay all styles and patterns. The blocks that are used are Plasmore block pavers. The reason for this is that over the 20 years that we’ve been paving, these blocks tend to be the best for hardness, strong colours and long lasting durability, the main factors that you expect from a block paved driveway.
